Youth Christian Network - Africa (YCN-AFRICA)

TOWER OF REVIVAL CHURCH -UGANDA (AFRICA)

In the dynamic landscape of African Christianity, where youth constitute over 70% of the population under the age of 30, strategic partnerships between emerging networks and established local churches are catalyzing spiritual revival and holistic empowerment. A prime example is the Youth Christian Network Africa (YCNA or YCN-Africa), which has designated the Tower of Revival Church in Bugiri, Eastern Uganda, as its home-base and headquarters church for all continental activities since 2025. This collaboration was formalized when Apostle Emma Mwondha—founder and lead pastor of Tower of Revival Church and a key figure in the Busoga Revival Mission—graciously accepted YCNA’s request to utilize the church premises as its operational hub

This alliance represents more than logistical convenience; it embodies a divine synergy of vision, resources, and mission, amplifying youth-focused evangelical outreach across Africa while rooting it firmly in a thriving local congregation.

Founding and Mission of Youth Christian Network Africa

Youth Christian Network Africa was established in 2025 by Pastor Steven Hynes (also known as Pr. Steve Hynes), a visionary leader with roots in Uganda but operational headquarters in Bad Kreuznach, Germany.  YCNA operates as a non-denominational, evangelical Christian body dedicated exclusively to youth ministry. Its African offices are located at P.O. Box 167, Bugiri, Butambula West Village, Eastern Uganda, with European coordination from Germany

The organization’s core mandate is to engage young people in urban slums, rural communities, schools, and beyond through evangelism, discipleship, leadership training, and social initiatives. Grounded in biblical principles such as 1 Timothy 4:12 (“Let no one despise your youth”), YCNA emphasizes “pure, unadulterated Word of God” preaching—focusing on grace, the finished work of Christ, and spiritual warfare. Its motto captures this ethos: “Raising a generation characterized by prowess in spiritual warfare, boldness in evangelism, passion in social involvement, and godliness in leadership.”

Key activities include street outreaches, school assemblies, Bible studies, prayer groups (“prayer triplets”), leadership camps, HIV/AIDS education campaigns, orphan care through children’s homes, and media outreach via radio talk shows, podcasts, and video series like “Youth Talks Africa.” YCNA also coordinates national programs across multiple African countries, mission trips, annual prayer recharges, and ecumenical partnerships. By 2026, initiatives such as the “A Bible for Each Youth” campaign and ongoing radio programs underscore its commitment to scalable, youth-driven transformation

Founded amid a revelation Hynes received in Uganda about the need for grace-centered youth preaching, YCNA quickly scaled by networking with local ministries, volunteers, and churches—setting the stage for its deep integration with Tower of Revival Church

Apostle Emma Mwondha and the Tower of Revival Church: A Foundation of Revival

Tower of Revival Church, situated in Bugiri District, Eastern Uganda (Busoga sub-region), stands as a vibrant center of Pentecostal revival and community transformation. Founded by Apostle Emmanuel Mwondha with His Wife Pastor Rodha Mwondha  (commonly referred to as Apostle Emma Mwondha or Pr. Mwondha Emmanuel), the church serves as a beacon for the Busoga Revival Mission. Apostle Mwondha is recognized not only as a powerful preacher and spiritual father but also as a community leader who exemplifies servant-hearted ministry—preaching the Word while driving practical transformation in the region

The church hosts regular revival services, conferences, prayer meetings, and youth programs, fostering an atmosphere of surrender, testimonies, and Holy Spirit encounters. Its location in Bugiri—strategically positioned in a region with significant youth populations facing challenges like poverty, moral decay, and limited opportunities—makes it an ideal launchpad for continent-wide initiatives. Under Apostle Mwondha’s leadership, Tower of Revival has grown into a hub for inter-church collaborations, including Busoga-wide revival missions that draw believers from across Uganda and beyond.

Apostle Mwondha’s theology aligns seamlessly with YCNA’s emphasis on grace, revival, and youth empowerment. As founder, he has built a legacy of bold evangelism and discipleship, positioning the church as a “tent of meeting” for encounters with God.

The 2025 Acceptance: Establishing the Headquarters Partnership

In 2025—the very year of YCNA’s founding—Apostle Emma Mwondha formally accepted the network’s request to designate Tower of Revival Church as its home-base and headquarters church for all African activities. This decision was not merely administrative; it reflected a shared conviction that local, Spirit-led churches must anchor global networks.

The church premises in Bugiri now serve as the nerve center: YCNA’s African offices are based there (or immediately adjacent in Butambula West Village), enabling seamless coordination. Key operational overlaps reinforce this integration. Br. Leidi Hannington, church administrator at Tower of Revival Church, serves as YCNA’s General Secretary. Apostle Emmanuel Mwondha himself acts as a host and advisor to YCNA events, lending apostolic covering and local credibility.

Major gatherings, such as the YCNA Youth Annual Prayer Recharge (held at the church) and overnight revival sessions featuring tears, testimonies, and total surrender, are hosted on-site. This physical basing allows YCNA to leverage the church’s infrastructure—sanctuary, administrative support, and existing youth fellowships—for evangelism, discipleship training, and outreach planning. The partnership extends to Bugiri Municipal and District Born-Again Youth Fellowships, further embedding YCNA in the local fabric.

Since acceptance in 2025, the arrangement has proven fruitful: YCNA conducts its continental coordination from this Ugandan hub while Apostle Mwondha’s church benefits from the influx of resources, international partnerships, and youth mobilization.

Synergistic Impact and Broader Significance

The YCNA–Tower of Revival alliance exemplifies how indigenous African Christianity thrives through collaboration. For YCNA, basing operations at a established revival center provides authenticity, spiritual authority, and logistical efficiency in a continent where youth ministry often grapples with resource constraints. Activities radiate outward from Bugiri to slums, rural villages, and schools across Uganda and neighboring nations, addressing holistic needs: spiritual (discipleship and evangelism), social (HIV education, orphan care), and leadership (training future pastors and influencers).

For Tower of Revival Church, the partnership amplifies its revival mandate. Hosting YCNA events infuses fresh energy into its congregation, expands its reach through international networks (including Hynes’ European base), and positions it as a continental model for youth-centered revival. Apostle Mwondha’s acceptance has elevated the church from a local powerhouse to a strategic gateway for Africa-wide Gospel impact.

Broader implications are profound. In a region like Busoga, where revival missions seek to “go yonder” in Jesus’ name, this base strengthens efforts against moral decay, poverty, and spiritual complacency. It models non-denominational unity, inviting all believers to participate in bringing Christ’s love to Africa’s youth. As YCNA grows—through media, camps, and missions—the headquarters at Tower of Revival ensures grounded, grace-filled operations that prioritize transformation over programs.

Sample Outreach Call for Support

Partner with Us to Complete the YCN Africa Church (Tower of Revival Church) Building in Bugiri, Uganda – Final Phase Appeal

Dear Beloved Friends, Partners, and Well-Wishers in Christ,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

We are excited to share a significant update from the Youth Christian Network – Africa (YCN Africa) home base in Butambula West Village, Bugiri, Eastern Uganda. By God’s grace, we have made steady progress on our church building, which will serve as a central hub for youth empowerment, discipleship, revival meetings, community outreach, and worship.

The structure has reached an advanced stage, and we are now in the critical finishing phase. To make the building fully functional and ready for use, we urgently need support for the following:

  • Shuttering and concrete works (formwork for beams, slabs, or remaining structural elements)
  • Installation of doors and windows (to secure the building and provide proper ventilation and security)
  • Computer and internet installation (to equip the center for digital discipleship, online youth programs, administration, and connecting with partners across Africa and beyond)

These final touches will transform the building into a practical, secure, and modern space where young people can be trained, the Gospel proclaimed, and lives transformed for the Kingdom of God.

How You Can Help:

  • Financial support – Any amount is valuable. Your contribution will directly go toward materials (timber/steel for shuttering, doors, windows, fixtures) and skilled labor.
  • Prayer support – Please pray for protection over the workers, provision of resources, and that this building will be a beacon of hope and revival in the region.
  • Material or expertise support – If you can supply doors/windows, shuttering materials, or technical help with internet setup, we would be grateful.
  • Share this appeal with your church, family, friends, and networks.
